Prospective suppliers
Broadlane invites suppliers to participate in our client-driven contracting process by registering with our Prospective Supplier Database. To register, click here. Before each competitive bid/RFP event, Contracting staff consults the Prospective Supplier Database to determine which suppliers have indicated their desire to participate in an RFP for the specific products or services in process. Completion of the Prospective Supplier Form does not mean eligibility to solicit our clients and does not guarantee a company will be awarded an agreement. Any interested supplier must register as a prospective supplier before Broadlane will send RFP materials in connection with any bid category. Broadlane requires the following documentation to properly register for a bid on a category as a prospective supplier. If all of the required documentation is not provided before the supplier registration due date indicated on the bid calendar, then Broadlane will not include that supplier in any RFP distribution.
All suppliers must provide:
- Tax identification number
- PDF of marketing materials, featuring products or services
- Diversity suppliers must include their third-party diversity certification
- Manufacturers must also submit:
- Material Safety Data Sheets
- ISO Certification 9000, 9001, 9002, 13485
- Product liability insurance
- Manufacturer contact information (name of facility, address, telephone number)
Registered suppliers will be included in the relevant competitive bid/RFP process, subject to our client advisory committees’ endorsement of their inclusion. Click here for the Bid Categories. At the direction of our client advisory committees, Broadlane will not include suppliers currently listed on the excluded supplier lists of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) or General Service Administration (GSA) in the competitive bid/RFP process.
To best support our clients, Broadlane also works to provide additional contract support in the following areas:
Bid categories
Broadlane's contracting opportunities undergo a competitive bid/RFP process approximately 3 to 6 Bid Calendar months prior to the expiration of current contracts in that category. Broadlane client advisory committees may at their discretion periodically decide to extend a particular contract category for some period of time for strategic reasons. If that occurs, the Broadlane Web site will be updated with new information and expiration dates for that category. New categories added at the request of our client advisory committees are typically addressed within 12 months. The bid calendar presents an overview of the product categories to be bid by Broadlane. Any interested supplier must register as a prospective supplier before Broadlane will send RFP materials in connection with any bid category. In order to bid on a category as a prospective supplier, Broadlane requires the following documentation:
- Tax identification number
- PDF of marketing materials, featuring products or services
- Diversity suppliers must include their third-party diversity certification
- Manufacturers must also submit:
- Material Safety Data Sheets
- ISO Certification 9000, 9001, 9002, 13485
- Product liability insurance
- Manufacturer contact information (name of facility, address, telephone number)
Prospective suppliers are contacted ONLY if their company receives client advisory committee endorsement for inclusion in the bid categories in which they do business.
Broadlane reserves the right to modify the Bid Categories Calendar as needed; please visit it frequently for the latest updates.
Criteria for evaluating potential suppliers
The general criteria that Broadlane's client committees use to evaluate a potential supplier include:
- Potential to decrease Broadlane clients' purchase costs for the category.
- Ability to provide excellent client service and field support for Broadlane's client facilities.
- Capability to provide products that meet the specifications of the applicable client advisory committee (for example, size and durability, and full line of replacement parts).
- Aptitude to provide a safe product.
- Capability to provide an environmentally friendly product.
- Sound financial condition (for example, recent financial reporting and favorable financial rating from an independent third party).
Each RFP issued to interested suppliers also contains the list of key requirements that Broadlane's client committees have specified for the specific category. During the negotiation of supplier proposals, Broadlane staff is available to all bidding suppliers to clarify any questions about the stated requirements.
Supplier diversity
The Broadlane Supplier Diversity Program proactively seeks historically underutilized businesses (HUBs) to participate in contracting opportunities and chooses to include suppliers that reflect of our diverse client base. The program encourages community economic development, supports our clients' supplier diversity purchasing goals and builds successful business relationships with HUBs.
