The potential savings is derived by comparing your hospital's supply cost per case against Broadlane's benchmark data.

Who is the Broadlane Surgical Consulting Team?
Broadlane's Surgical Consulting Team members are clinicians who have an intimate working knowledge of the challenges encountered in the surgical suite such as surgical supply, productivity, high cost physician preference items and procedure profiling.
How does Broadlane's Surgical Consulting Team determine a facility's potential savings opportunity?
The Surgical Consulting Team reviews the facility's current surgical supply spend and compares it to national and Broadlane benchmarks. Potential for savings is calculated utilizing your facility's current procedure volumes and utilization patterns.
What are the next steps toward realizing my potential savings?

This information provides the information necessary to determine your hospital’s opportunity for savings. If you are interested please send information electronically to surgicalsavings@broadlane.com.

Will our surgeons be affected by this program?
Gaining physician confidence in the process can provide strong leverage for the hospital resulting in sustainable practice change and cost savings. Senior leadership will communicate with key surgeons early in the program to reinforce that there will be no required change in individual surgeon practice. It is important to assure surgeons that the ultimate goal is to provide hospital leaders and surgeons insight into opportunities to streamline processes, decrease variability and determine the true cost per procedure in an attempt to better manage escalating surgical procedure cost while maintaining physician preference and patient outcomes.
Will we be able to track my savings and compliance with the new agreements?
The Surgical Procedure Optimization Program provides your facility with ongoing tracking and information services, providing timely, vital information regarding contract compliance, individual surgeon practice and utilization patterns as well as cost savings.
