Pop Up issues (top of screen)
I try to download a file but nothing happens? (top of screen)
More than likely, you have a pop-up device preventing the download. To fix this, perform the
following steps:
1) Open a new instance of Internet Explorer
2) Select Tools
3) Select Internet Options
4) Select Security
5) Click on the Trusted Sites icon
6) Click the Sites button
7) Type in frictionless.com in the field provided. (Note: Do not enter a prefix such as https or
www)
8) (Make sure the checkbox is off), then press Add
9) Shut down all instances of Internet Explorer and re-start.
I try to access a report and nothing happens? (top of screen)
More than likely, you have a pop-up device preventing the download. To fix this, perform
the following steps:
1) Open a new instance of Internet Explorer
2) Select Tools
3) Select Internet Options
4) Select Security
5) Click on the Trusted Sites icon
6) Click the Sites button
7) Type in frictionless.com in the field provided. (Note: Do not enter a prefix such

What Browsers can I use? (top of screen)
Only Internet Explorer V6.0 or Netscape 6.0 are supported.
AOL IE, Mozilla, Firefox and most 3rd party browsers are not supported.

RFX Questions (top of screen)
How do I attach a file to the RFP? (top of screen)

To attach a file, select the Attachments button (located within the yellow bar)
Where do I go to download attachments provided by Broadlane? (top of screen)

To download attachments supporting the RFP/RFI, select the Attachments button (located within the yellow bar)
How do I submit my response? (top of screen)

1) To submit your response, click the In Progress button.
2) Change the phase of your response to Preliminary, then click OK

3) Then change the phase to Firm and click OK.
Moving the phase to “Firm” submits your response to Broadlane.
NOTE: Your will not be able to alter your response if the RFP is in this phase. You must
coordinate with the event owner
to have it “unlocked”
The system won’t accept my password. What should I do? (top of screen)

You may quickly re-generate a new password by selecting the Forgot your Password link
(found within the login screen)
What is this RFP for? (top of screen)
If you have questions related to the RFP you’ve been invited to respond to, refer to the RFP manager.
The system won’t allow me to submit my response. What should I do? (top of screen)

If the system wont allow you to submit your response, more than likely it is because you
did not answer one or more questions that were denoted with a red asterisk (indicating
that a response is required to the question) To quickly identify the question(s) you must
answer, select the Unanswered Questions option found within the Reports button (within
the yellow bar)
How do I access the RFP? (top of screen)

To access the RFP you’ve been invited to, select the blue hyperlink found within the RFx
Response column.
How do I answer questions? (top of screen)
To begin answering questions, select the Questions tab. All of the questions related to the
RFP/ RFI will be shown on this screen. Select the blue hyperlink or the pencil icon to begin
answering questions.
What does the red asterisk mean? (*) (top of screen)

Questions denoted with a red asterisk are mandatory questions. They system will not allow
you to submit your response until all mandatory questions have been answered.
Can I add comments to the RFP? If so, where should they be entered? (top of screen)

To add comments or notes to your response, locate the Cover Page Comments field found within the Header
Tab screen.
How can I obtain instructions, cover letters, etc., supporting this RFP? (top of screen)

To access instructions, cover letters, etc., simply click the Information tab. All informational sections
will be listed. Click the blue hyperlink to view/download any of the provided data.
Where should I go to start answering questions? (top of screen)

To begin answering questions, select the Questions tab. All questions will be listed on the screen.
To access the question, select the blue hyperlink or the pencil icon related to the desired question.
Can I keep an electronic copy of my RFP responses? If so, how? (top of screen)

To keep an electronic copy of your RFP / RFI response, select the Actions button (found
within the yellow bar). Click the Create RFx PDF option to generate an electronic copy.
When are my responses due? (top of screen)

Responses are due by the Response Due Date highlighted within the Header Tab screen under the Response Due Date field.
What do I need to do to reply to the RFP? (top of screen)
To respond to an RFP:
1. On the Workbench in the Active Auctions and RFxs channel, click the RFx icon next to the name of the RFP you’ve been invited to.
2. On the Summary page under RFx Responses, click the blue hyperlink in the RFX Response column.
3. On the Header page, view general information and information under General Status and Change History.
4. Click the Schedule tab to view the schedule of the RFP (open and close dates).
5. Click the Information tab to view any additional information about the RFx provided by the buyer. You may download as needed.
6. Click the Attachments button to access any file attachments associated to the RFP. (This is also the area you will load your own attachments).
7. Click the Questions tab to answer questions.
8. Optionally, add any attachments.
9. Click the Save button in the yellow toolbar.
10. Change the RFx response phase to Firm.
Contract Questions (top of screen)
How do I check out a document? (top of screen)

To Check-Out a document, click the blue hyperlink. A pop up window will appear providing 2 options.
1) Download-If you do not plan on editing or making changes to the provided document, click the Download option.
2) Check Out-If you plan on revising the existing data, select the Check Out option. This option will allow you to upload your changes via the “Check-In” functionality.
How do I check in a document? (top of screen)

You can Check-In your document by selecting the Actions button, then by selecting Check-In.
Workbench Questions (top of screen)
How can my colleague help me with responding to an RFP? (top of screen)

To create an account for a colleague, follow these simple steps:
1) From the Workbench screen, locate the Supplier Setup channel (located under the monthly calendar)
2) Select the Manage User Accounts link
The Contact list screen appears. You will see your profile listed as the primary.
3) Click the Create button
The New Contact Screen appears. Enter the fields required within each tab (Contact, Account Management, etc)

4) Ensure that all required fields have been entered. Required fields are denoted by an orange asterisk *.
NOTE: Ensure you review the entire screen by using the scroll bar.

5) Enter the User ID of the person you are creating. It is a good technique to use the first initial of the first name
and then the entire last name. (i.e. John Smith = jsmith)
NOTE: Please leave all system default boxes that have been selected as is.
6) Click Save
NOTE: Select the Workbench button at the top of the screen to return to the Home screen.
The Frictionless SRM system will automatically generate an email that contains the ID that you entered and a temporary password along with a URL or Web Address to access the system. This newly created user will now be able to access the event on event day by selecting it from the Workbench screen.

Select the Change My Password link in the Supplier Setup channel
